When you’re continuously releasing features, even with detailed documentation that we offer via our knowledge base, it can be easy to lose track of what’s new. So, every month, we’re highlighting the cool and valuable new capabilities that we’ve released in the previous month. Here’s what’s new from April 2021.
100G Cloud Router Connectivity Has Arrived
Following last month’s announcement of 100G Direct Connectivity to GCP and AWS, we’re happy to follow that in April with 100G Cloud Router connectivity to the same targets. Your multi-cloud applications now can have 10x more throughput!
Private multi-cloud connectivity offers significant performance advantages over VPN connectivity. See the analysis of the impact of private multi-cloud connectivity on Kafka performance that was recently presented at ONUG Spring 2021 .
We continue to work with MSFT to make similar connectivity available. If you have questions about 100G dedicated or Cloud Router MSFT connectivity, please contact us at sales@packetfabric.com.
UI Additions
At the end of April, an update put in place the structures for our Marketplace to Cloud and Reseller functionalities that will be launched in May and June respectively. These additions expand our Channel and Partner capabilities and are mentioned here as their artifacts are already viewable in both the portal and our documentation.
If you have questions regarding these upcoming features prior to their official product launches, or are interested in becoming a Packet Fabric Channel Partner or Reseller, please contact us at partners@packetfabric.com.
In early April, we added more automation to the Cross Connect process to enable customers to onboard and expand faster on our fabric. We now have integrated pricing for Outbound PacketFabric Cross Connection (where available). For more information on Cross Connects, see our documentation here.
Core Network Service Updates
In response to customer requests, we’ve added the following functionality to existing services:
EPL Virtual Circuit Configuration Option
We’ve added the ability to select Ethernet Private Line (EPL) in addition to Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL) to the Advanced Configuration menu for Virtual Circuits. With EPL enabled, no other Virtual Circuits can be attached to the A and Z ports of a proposed connection.
